CALVARY CHAPEL BOWLING LEAGUE RULES 1.  Governance:  This is a Non-Sanctioned league, which means that the ABC and WIBC are not our governing bodies.  In the interest of running an organized league, however, many of the rules of those bodies will be followed.  This is your league; if you have a suggestion or a problem, feel free to share it with an officer. This is a Calvary Chapel sponsored league and is overseen ultimately by Dave Miller.  The league officers are as follows: President: Bill Greco Secretary: Bill Greco Treasurer: Kathy Greco   2.  Finances:  The league fee is $16.00 cash per person each night.  $14.25 goes to BOWLERO (“BZ”) and $1.75 to the league treasury for awards, championship night pizza party and/or banquet, ministry project, etc. No checks will be accepted since we must pay BOWLERO in cash each night.  Please make every effort to pay each night and don’t fall behind.  If you plan to pre-bowl for the following week, try to pay in advance. Never pay at the counter, even for pre-bowling.  If you  do not bowl on a particular night and you do not pre-bowl, you still have to pay the $16.00 fee after the 1st 3 weeks. 3.  Substitutes:  If you have a sub, the sub does  not pay; the regular (absent) bowler does pay.  Subs must bowl 3 games to establish an average. They will be listed on the weekly stat sheet along with their averages for your ease in calculating handicap.  If a sub does not have an established  average, you will have to wait until the end of the night to calculate the average and figure the handicap before declaring wins or losses. 4.  Scoring:  This is a handicap league and the team handicap is 90% of the difference between the 2 teams’ averages.  If a bowler is absent and there is no sub, the bowler's score for each game will be his or her average minus 10. If a team does not show up and has not pre-bowled, there is no automatic forfeiture.  The opponent team must bowl against that team's absent scores.   5.  Pre-bowling:  You can pre-bowl any time during season.  Just set up a time with the lanes (215-322-7755) and remember to pay in advance the week prior to your absence, if at all possible.  If you don’t pay in advance, make sure you double up the following week. It would be extremely helpful if you could give a copy of your prebowl scores to someone who will be at the lanes the night of your absence.  BOWLERO retains a copy of your scores which they give to the league secretary, but in the event it cannot be found, this will provide an extra layer of  protection for you.  You could also phone in your scores to a team member. 6. Team composition:  A team consists of 4 bowlers and at least one must be a woman.  No 4-man teams are allowed unless we have extra players and no where to place them..  If a team has 5 bowlers  because a person cannot be there every week, that is acceptable.  If all 5 team members are present on a given night, only the first 4 on your  roster will have their score counted for purposes of wins/losses. The 5th bowler can be a “pacer” or can sub for another team that night if they desire. 7. Team Match-Ups:  Every effort will be made to assure that each team bowls all the other teams once before bowling a team for a second time in a given season, aside from position round weeks. 8. Bowling Courtesy:  If a bowler arrives after the 5th frame, the late bowler must wait until the next game to bowl.  Prior to the 5th frame, they may catch up. Please do not walk away from your team for an extended period of time and with disregard for your turn.  If you are not present at the time you are up to bowl and/or have not told a team member that you will be right back, your team should select “skip bowler” on the scoring computer until you return.  Be courteous to the other team members and to BOWLERO, which has allotted us a fixed amount of time to complete our league bowling. Bowlers should step down off the approach while waiting for their ball to return so that bowlers ready to the right or left may proceed.  This is a non-alcoholic beverages league and we ask that you not drink on or around the lanes assigned to our Calvary Bowling League. FOUL Language will not be tolerated in our league. Please control it. We pray and have announcements each week before scorekeeping begins.  Everyone please join the prayer circle and huddle in close so you can hear the announcements. Winning is great and everyone enjoys good competition, but remember to have fun!!  And more importantly, please pray that we will be a good witness to the staff at BOWLERO. Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
